Week 4: MTC mission life🤘

Image
P-day is a happy day. It's like waking up on Christmas fr It's been a good week! I did start crying in Spanish class but other then that it's been a-okay So far the best parts of my day are breakfast, morning workout, lunch, dinner, getting ready for bed and all the breaks between class All jokes, class honestly isn't that bad unless it sucks We usually have 3 hours of Spanish from 10-1 and then preach my Gospel class 2-5 but on Saturday we changed our preach my Gospel class to Spanish. So now we have two 3 hour Spanish classes every day. Yay And yes the first day they changed our PMG class to Spanish was the day I cried, but only because our teacher decided teach us Spanish grammar in Spanish- aka I was lost the entire time And then he called me to the front to do something even tho I didnt know what. So I just looked dumb as he called out all my mistakes in front of the entire class even though most everyone was also lost. I didnt cry in front of everyone thank the lo...

Happy P-day! Last time I accidentally sent my email on my personal account so if you messaged me, sorry! I won't see it until 2028 but feel free to message me here So this has pretty much been the longest week of my life but it's been really good.  The last few days before i left for the CCM i said goodbye to a lot of friends and family and then Thursday at 6 am I said goodbye to my family for real which pretty much sucked. Literally the moment I was dreading more than anything else about the mission. I've been at the CCM now for like 5 days? And genuinely so much has happened When we arrived the entire firsthand was just orientation and getting to know our way around. I finally met my comp! She is super cool. I also met the other two hermanas in our district and genuinely our whole group is so fun.  We have classes like 6 hours a day and whenever we're not in class, we're studying or playing hacky sack which im kind of unc at but im getting better i think The first...

Farewell Talk

Image
Friends were talking to Abi after the meeting today ~ Friends and some family came over to the house and enjoyed a visit along with chicken grape salad and sourdough, brownies, and Tara brought a yummy guava cake too. Abi and her friends. Abi has a few more days of classes then she flies out on Thursday morning. I think the only thing she still needs/wants is a few more garments, so I'm going to go get those when I can. There are a lot of things she still wants to do, so we'll see what we can fit in before Thursday!  Abi's talk: ____________________________________ Hello I am Hermana Wride, and I have been called to serve in the Panama, Panama City mission speaking Spanish. I have been a missionary for less than two weeks now and I have already cried like 3 times because of the language, so I fear the next few weeks aren’t looking too good for me. Despite my struggle to understand what I'm supposed to be learning, online MTC has been a great experience as I have gotten ...

Week 1 1/2 - Home MTC!

Image
Hola friends!  I have officially been a missionary for 1 1/ 2 weeks and it’s been so much work but super fun (heart) This past week i have been in park city with my dads side of the family like we do every year, so basically my week has been sitting in 7+ hours of classes a day and watching my family swim or go cliff jumping without me (blow nose cry) i’ll just dip my feet in the hot tub whenever they’re all together  people keep asking me what i can do like if i can eat popcorn or play card games - i PROMISE being a missionary is not that restrictive (facepalm, laugh tears) There was one day this week I thought it would be cute to wear slacks and white button up, but to anyone who didn’t recognize the missionary tag I just looked like an employee (two face palms) so i did have like 4 people come up to me asking where the bathrooms or the ice machines were, and i have been coming here my entire life so i knew exactly where to point them which didn’t help me look less emp...

Abi's Mission Call

Image
Abi opened her mission call tonight! You can watch it here , or scroll down to the end of this post to see where. This pic below was when her eyes saw where she was going - And here she is after reading it outloud to all of us - In the video link above you can see cute Grandpa Wride who showed the emotions that were in her parents and grandparents' hearts - very full with gratitude and amazed at life passing by. Little Abi is going on a mission? Also remembering when we were opening our mission calls. Very exciting! This morning I worked on getting health insurance from 9-1 and that was when I took a break and when Abi got the notification that her call was here. She stewed about it for a bit wondering when to open it. Tonight we had a church activity from 5:30 - 8:30, so tonight won't work... No, that's not a problem! We'll just do it after. Easy. She wasn't sure... how about tomorrow? No, that is the Sweethearts dance at school so that wouldn't work. And Sund...
